I decided to hit up the racially charged King of Controversy Mr. Paul Mooney to check out some racially heated flicks. The legendary stand-up comedian who also wrote material for Redd Foxx, Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor held back nothing and had some hilarious shit to say.

PAUL MOONEY: Wait, what is this for? Oh it’s you. I thought you had me doing something with these Africans [Referring to the black photographer Ray-On and his two assistants]… What movies are you showing me? I want to know what movies you’re showing me first.
R.A. THE RUGGED MAN: I got some good ones. Trust Me.
PM: You’re trying to control me. That’s what all white folks do but it wont work with me, white man.
[ I show him the movie boxes of the films i'll be screening to make sure he approves. ]
PM: What about White Dog, about the dog that’s trained to kill niggers?
RA: Yeah, starring Kristy McNichol. I got it at home but check out this flick.
WONDERBAR (1934)
ON SCREEN: The scene opens with Al Jolson in black face singing an offensive song called “Heaven on a Mule”
PM: Oh yeah, I seen this Mammie shit before.
RA: No, it gets worse.
ON SCREEN: Jolson enters what is supposed to be “black heaven”, which turns out to be dozens of white people in blackface shamelessly dancing around in angel costumes.
PM: White folks have such an obsession with Nigger heaven that if there was one they’d say send it straight to hell. This is sick. They got little kids doing it– white kids in blackface, dressed up like niggers. And they think Eminem is new. White folks always wanted to be like niggers.
RA: This was a big budget Hollywood film. Can you believe this got made?
PM: Of course. White people are fucking insane. You didnt know that? They’re out of their fucking minds.
ON SCREEN: The camera strolls through “black heaven” which consists of dice games, chicken making machines, pork chop groves and black faced angels tap dancing with giant watermelon slices
PM: Are you getting a nut off of this, white man? And this is what white folks say is the greatest entertainer to ever live. Al Jolson. Look at the watermelon slices.
RA: How do you rate this film?
PM: I think they should burn it and use little white babies to do it.
THE INTRUDER (1964)
ON SCREEN: William Shatner drives down the street with a posse of hooded-out Ku Klux Klan members fully equipped with shotguns and flaming crosses.
RA: Thats a young William Shatner. He plays a white supremacist.
PM: And a very good one. This is brilliant. I always knew Captain Kirk was prejudiced. Beam me down, Scotty.
ON SCREEN: William Shatner hails a taxi asking his white Cab Driver, “Do you know where nigger town is? Can you take me there?”
PM: Why is he going to nigger town?
RA: I’m not sure- I guess he wants to scope it out. You know they filmed this on location in a racist hick town with real hick spectators?
PM: Of course- just look at them. It’s like a documentary. Look at all the real white faces- it’s classic. I love white folks when they put their own bullshit on screen. Evil is as evil does. This is the best film ever made.
[While I'm getting the next clip set up, Paul begins kicking random race issues to Rayon the photographer.]
PM: The Jews have a luxury- they’re allowed to hate out loud. The Holocaust, they bring that shit up every five fucking minutes.
BLACK DEVIL DOLL FROM HELL (1984)
ON SCREEN: An evil black doll with dreads has an older black woman with jheri curls tied down to a bed. The doll tells her, “Wake up, bitch!, I’m gonna fuck you and give you your heartfelt desire.”
RA: I’m obsessed with this movie.
PM: The dolls gonna fuck her?
RA: Yeah
PM: She likes it: she loves it. He’s about to lick her, right? His tongue is the best.
ON SCREEN: The doll begins sexing her with his long, drooling black devil tongue and right before he fucks her, he explains, “I’m getting ready to pop your cherry, bitch.”
PM: This is the best black film i’ve ever seen. I have to have this today. I’m serious nigga. I gotta show this to Eddie Murphy. Where’d you get this, cause maybe my man could get me a copy.
RA: your man dont got this. It came out for a limited time in 1984 on a cheap -ass VHS label and never came out again. So how would you rate this film?
PM: Oh, it’s the best. It’s an Academy Award performance. Denzel should’ve played the doll.
[Once again while I set up another clip Paul continues to speak his mind.]
PM: White people always ask, “We know there’s a problem, Paul. What would you do if you were in charge?” I say kill every white person on the planet, bury them, then dig them up and bury them again. Cause I seen “Dawn of the Dead”- they’ll get up.
THE KLANSMAN (1974)
PM: Oh, thats Lola Falana. She was a big sex symbol. She was Sammy Davis, jr’s girlfriend.
RA: Yeah, this got an all-star cast: Lee Marvin, Cameron Mitchell, Richard Burton.
PM: Oh here comes the Klan. I love it.
ON SCREEN: A KKK member excitingly throws on his Klan gear and rushes out to meet a fellow Klansman. He then Realizes something ain’t right- he notices that under his fellow Klansman’s uniform is black skin.
PM: That’s not the Klan, that’s a nigger.
RA: But check out who it is.
ON SCREEN: The black Klansman pulls off his hood to reveal that he is actually O.J. Simpson. He then shoots the evil white Klansman to death.
PM: O.J. doing what he does best – killing. That’s hysterical. O.J. and Lola in a movie about the Klan. It’s great. I need a copy of this too. I gotta give it to you white man – all these movies you showed me, they’re all tens.
RA: Cool. Thanks for doing this shit for me.
PM: Yeah, and when you write this, don’t misquote me cause I know how white folks are.
